One Big Happy Family

Up until earlier this year a very public death of a child sparked outrage in Australia, the Attorney General, the Chief Justice and the Shared Parenting Council were one big happy family.  All were working in synchronicity to contain concerns about Australia's shared parenting bill.  Outside the family court, few were aware of the Shared Parenting Councils views on violence against women and children and even fewer were aware of what the actual laws entailed.  One law required women to prove to the court that they, "reasonably feared" the perpetrator with the court appointed psychologist and very little weight given to outside professionals even if they had been supporting the family for a number of years.

Other barriers included the bizarre, but frighteningly common ban on sending the child to counsellors or specialists trained to investigate child abuse.  These are the daily happenings of the family court that only those who have set foot in are truly aware of.   In the wider community, such practices are absurd to say the least and something that one would expect from a third world country.  The shared parenting councils website was funded by the child support agency as part of a pilot program to ensure that parents could access information about the changes.  What users of the forum did not expect was the deplorable treatment of women and clear discrimination that was made against them.  Thankfully, this was raised and agreed upon among other mothers in another online forum that this site was a fathers rights website attempting to sabotage and exploit victims of family violence that were forced to endure the court system.  What was also bizarre, was the relationships between the Family Court and the Shared Parenting Council that further polarized women and children's experiences.  Below is an email from the members of the shared parenting council asking the other to run it past Diana Bryant.

In the forum, is another example of where one of the members called the chief justice and the other member is insulting him, but describing her as someone who knows her well.

Although fathers rights groups have made it clear that their preference is for Philip Ruddock, below is a photo of the shared parenting council and the attorney general:

Below is a response from the attorney generals department regarding family relationship centers after the family relationships hotline was established.

Clearly, there is a good reason as to why mothers and children are not confident about the proposed changes.  Many tricks were used in past reforms to divert mothers and children's rights from becoming a reality.  The submissions for the shared parenting bill were doubled by the same group of people and their families to create the illusion that there were more than there were.  It is a reason why mothers groups will continue to pressure key stakeholders in ensuring that they will provide adequate protection from victims of family violence.

How feminism has made men's lives safer — and women's more dangerous.

By Jennifer Foote Sweeney and Alisa Smith

Feminism, real or imagined, has long been praised and blamed for a whole pile of societal developments, crises and trends. But it has emerged recently in unlikely quarters: as a major factor in the "intimate" murders of women and as a saving grace in the lives of abusive men. In a devastating twist, feminism, while improving women's lives in many obvious ways, may also have made their lives more dangerous. At the same time, by offering escape and support to battered women, it has saved the lives of abusive men.

Much has been made of the fact that, in the past 20 years, the number of homicides in the United States has sharply declined. That is good news, especially for abusive husbands, who, statistics show, are living longer because their wives and girlfriends are taking advantage of shelters, hotlines and other services for battered women. In other words, feminists have invested decades fighting domestic violence as part of the battle for women's rights and their work has paid off — by keeping batterers alive.

But there is bad news too. Only one category of homicide has failed to decline at the same rate as the rest. In fact, in some regions, it has not declined at all. It is "intimate homicide," in which a man kills his girlfriend or wife, often murdering the rest of the family too. In about one-quarter of the killings, the man then kills himself.

While psychologists, social scientists and historians have various explanations for the stubborn nature of this gruesome trend, most agree that feminism, or at the very least what it is seen to represent, plays a role in the motivation of men who commit intimate homicide or familicide. And when it is not a motivation, it is frequently an excuse.

"Batterers are very into making excuses and presenting themselves as victims. They really see other people, particularly their partners, as abusing or attempting to control them. It's the way to rationalize, minimize or deny their own behavior," says David Adams, co-founder of Emerge, one of the earliest treatment centers for battering men, in Cambridge, Mass. "They see women's gains as being at their expense."

Though we assume that attitudes toward women have changed dramatically since 1976 — when authorities began to keep detailed records of "intimate" homicides — the number of murdered wives and girlfriends has not changed much since then. On average, the rates have been going down 1 percent per year, from 1,600 in 1976 to 1,307 in 1998. That year, 32 percent of the 3,419 women murdered in the United States were killed by "intimates," according to the FBI, which reported that just 4 percent of male homicide victims in 1998 were killed by intimate partners.

In a majority of incidents in which a man kills his wife or girlfriend and children, familiar motives are cited. The killer might believe he has lost control of his partner and needs to reassert it. Or he fears losing his partner, upon whom he is deeply dependent. This confusing feeling evokes intense rage in those threatened by it. Usually such men are consumed with anger and a desire to blame as they kill.

Just last year, one man strapped his 3-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son into their car seats and shot them point-blank after his wife took out a restraining order against him. Another pretended that his 3-year-old son had been kidnapped by someone who would not return him until he, the killer, married his girlfriend. Eight days later, the boy's body was found in a black plastic bag. The crime, the murderer confessed, had been an attempt to coerce his girlfriend to marry him. In July, one week before Atlanta day trader Mark Barton killed nine people and wounded 13 others in his shooting spree in two brokerage firms, he killed his wife and two children in a classic case of familicide.

Barton blamed his wife, Leigh Ann, for his troubles, but professed great love for "my honey, my precious love," in his suicide note. The pair had been separated and were attempting a reconciliation, without great success. "She was one of the main reasons for my demise," he wrote.

One could argue that the number of men who kill their wives and/or children would have remained more or less constant even without feminism. A certain percentage of men, so this argument goes, will always possess that deadly combination of insecurity, rage and self-righteousness found in so many who commit intimate homicides — and they would end up killing even in the most repressive, patriarchal societies. Clearly, there is no way to resolve this question. But it seems inescapable that many of feminism's laudable consequences, both tangible and intangible — from increased opportunities and greater earning power to a diminution of the traditional male role as head of the family — have contributed to male violence against women. And when it is not an aggravation, many murderous men unquestionably use feminism as a rationalization, researchers say.

Linda Langford, who analyzed underlying factors in five years of domestic homicides in Massachusetts as her doctoral dissertation at Harvard University, believes that some men — particularly abusive or potentially abusive men — see themselves as victimized by recent changes in traditional male and female roles.

"We are in a social transition from more fixed roles to more fluid rules," she says. "Women are gaining power in more generalized ways. People with more traditional values have a problem with that.

"There's a sense in which men's proprietaryness over women and their children is being challenged. The fact that women are gaining independence might send them into a greater panic. But it's not what anybody else does that makes them the way they are — they are what they are, and they find excuses to justify their behavior."

And the excuses, if not for brutality then for collective outrage, are increasingly stated with barely concealed hostility, by certain men's groups and fathers' rights organizations, often on the Internet.

Hundreds of Web sites dedicated to fathers' rights openly blame the women's movement for their unjust oppression. The Fathers' Manifesto, for example, calls for the repeal of most family court decisions that grant custody and child support to women:

"The present feminist concept of women's 'independence' really means a government-enforced entitlement to be paid for the rewards of being a mother, without the responsibilities that go with it: to men, to children especially, and ultimately to the world at large," says the manifesto.

"We vow," it continues, "to remove all government involvement from family matters by the establishment of the father as the head of the family, under God."

It is when a man's control over his family is threatened that his rage can lead to murder. To be reminded of an intense dependency on a woman while losing control of her becomes an insurmountable emotional task, say experts. Acceptance is out of the question; reassertion of control, by whatever means necessary, becomes the alternative.

"It's 'I'm going to annihilate my family and myself, if this woman is going to leave. I'll kill her before I let her go,'" says Nancy Isaac, co-author with Langford of the Harvard study.

"Something that signifies the relationship is over — that sparks a killing spree," says Mindy Mechanic, psychologist at the University of Missouri, St. Louis, and an expert in post-traumatic stress in abused women. "They feel like they can't survive without the woman — as though she's the lifeline. If you realize everything you have and want and need is unattainable to you, what do you have left?"

Children are not usually the primary targets. They might be substitute victims, if the woman isn't available; or they are seen as obstacles to the man's relationship with the woman; or they could be revenge victims, killed as a way of hurting the woman in the worst possible way.

"If you think about domestic abuse, it's a system of power and control," says Langford. "The children are a tool of that control."

And there is sometimes a perverted "Father Knows Best" element when a man slays his own children. The neatly typed note left by Barton before his murderous Atlanta rampage showed that he had persuaded himself that he was protecting his children by killing them.

"I killed the children to exchange them for five minutes of pain for a lifetime of pain. I forced myself to do it to keep them from suffering so much later. No mother, no father, no relations," he wrote.

(He "spared" them by bludgeoning them with a hammer in their beds.)

It's a form of "righteous slaughter," a concept spelled out by UCLA sociology professor Jack Katz in his book "Seductions of Crime: Moral and Sensual Attractions of Doing Evil."

"When people do impassioned killings, they think they're doing something righteous by upholding some universal value," says Katz. "At that moment, they think that everyone would agree with the action they're taking."

David Adams of Emerge interviewed a man convicted of killing his estranged wife after luring her to their former home to watch videos with their children. The man made sure she had too much to drink, got her into bed and then, once she was asleep, bludgeoned her with a baseball bat and stabbed her in the neck.

Adams asked the man a series of questions, including whether he felt a woman who disobeys her husband deserves to be beaten.

"What if you believe she shouldn't be beaten, but she should be killed? the man asked.

"What do you mean?" asked Adams.

"I don't believe in hurting a woman — that's why I waited for her to fall asleep," the man replied. "But I believe you should take the marriage vows seriously."

And, oh, yes, the man added, he'd had sex with her before he killed her. He knew the coroner would discover his semen inside her body. He wanted the man he suspected his wife was seeing to know that he, the estranged husband, had been the last to have her.

Clearly, even when women leave, they are not safe, particularly if they can be lured back under false pretenses. But their departures, while likely to incite rage or even violence by the estranged men in their lives, create a safer environment for those men. Statistics show that women who leave abusive men are primarily avoiding deadly encounters in which their husbands would have been the victim. Women apparently can sense their own murderous impulses but not those of their mates.

Studies show that the numbers of women killing their husbands and boyfriends have plummeted. Women killed 1,357 intimate partners in 1976. They killed 430 in 1997. The decline was most dramatic in the 1990s, and researchers took serious notice of it a couple of years ago, when the Bureau of Justice Statistics published a landmark paper on intimate homicides.

As is often the case with statistical reports generated by government agencies, only numbers, not explanations, were offered in the report. Since its publication, researchers have scrambled to flesh out some theories. They have come up with three main reasons why intimate murders committed by women have decreased by more than 300 percent in 20 years. Feminism is wrapped up in all of them, whether it be the shelter movement and progressive laws, lower marriage rates or women's improved status.

The bottom line, it seems, is that women now have more options for leaving abusive relationships and finding support away from home. "Women now have a means of escape from violent relationships, such as shelters," says Juley Fulcher, public policy director of the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. When they can leave, they don't have to fight back.

In fact, the decline of intimate murders by women confirms what many researchers have said for decades: Women kill their spouses mainly in self-defense. For instance, one pioneering study by Jacquelyn Campbell in the early 1980s showed that 75 percent of women who killed their partners had been previously abused by them. The study was based on police reports filed over a five-year period in one city, long before investigators were trained to be sensitive to such issues.

"No matter who gets killed, it's wife abuse. That pattern has held up in current studies," says Campbell, a professor at the John Hopkins University school of nursing. "People have found that in states with good domestic violence laws, there are lower rates of men killed by intimate partners."

In addition to shelters and other means of escape from domestic violence, legal advocacy for battered women has played a key role as well, says Laura Dugan, professor of criminal justice at Georgia State University, and co-author of a forthcoming study on intimate homicide in 50 U.S. cities from 1976 to 1996.

Legal advocates, who range from volunteers to full-time paid staff, sit in on battered women's cases when they hit the courts, and guide women through the difficult process. "As opposed to shelters, where the women have to make the first move, legal advocates are reaching out to a large pool of women," Dugan says. "Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be an effect in saving women's lives."

Women's increased status and independence also have had an impact on their ability to leave abusive spouses and boyfriends, says Richard Rosenfeld, professor of criminology at the University of Missouri, St. Louis, and Dugan's co-author on the 50-city domestic violence study. Women today have higher incomes, education levels and workforce participation than they did 25 years ago. This allows them to leave abusive men they might have otherwise killed. Marriage rates, too, have significantly declined, allowing unsuitable mates in the volatile under-30 age bracket to split up before their differences turn into violence.

These changes, says Rosenfield, are particularly noteworthy among African-American women.

In 1976, the per-capita rate of intimate homicide among blacks was 11 times higher than among whites. Twenty years later, it was only about four times higher. "This is very good news," says Rosenfeld. By 1998, the murder of black husbands by their wives had the most significant drop of all categories of homicide, about 75 percent.

"Black women have become closer to black men on all the status indicators, and are in fact even more likely to have a higher education level," says Rosenfeld, who, with Dugan, is the first to explain this trend.

One parallel phenomenon they uncovered tempered the mostly positive changes. Decreasing welfare payments has led to an increase in intimate homicides, and particularly in those with male victims, says Rosenfeld. "We may think of the AFDC [Aid for Families with Dependent Children] as inducing independence, and it may — but not on abusive men!" says Rosenfeld. In the absence of welfare support, impoverished mothers may choose to stay with violent mates.

"We might have seen an even greater decrease in spousal homicides if welfare benefits hadn't declined," he says. In fact, Rosenfeld notes that since the federal government axed AFDC benefits in 1996, there has been something of an upturn in intimate murders. "It could just be a squiggle, but it's there, especially among African-Americans," he says. "We hope and urge that policy-makers look at welfare reforms, especially as the economy downturns, as it must."

And so, in the world of dysfunctional relationships, survival becomes a matter of luck and timing. A woman linked to an abusive husband might get out in time to save his life. To save herself, she must find a way to evacuate herself and her children before he realizes that she is ready or able to do so. Unfortunately, it can be deadly for a woman to be long-suffering or optimistic.

The emphasis now, researchers agree, needs to be on identifying abusive men as well as creating programs to help them change. "What those programs might be remains a very open question," says Rosenfeld. "Judges are starting to make [violence counseling] programs a condition of probation for men convicted of domestic assault. But no one yet knows the effectiveness of these programs."

Indeed, counseling violent men may not be enough. "There needs to be new ways of raising our boys. We have to challenge the belief that men be tough, non-emotional and in control," says Ty Schroyer, men's program coordinator for the highly regarded Domestic Abuse Intervention Project in Duluth, Minn. "Because of male socialization, they're just not reaching out [for help]. They may not even recognize that they have a problem."

For her part, Jacquelyn Campbell is working on a major study of homicide data from across the nation to determine what specific warning signs to look for in abusive men who go on to kill their female partners.

"Stalking is huge," Campbell emphasizes. This applies whether the couple has separated or is still together. Other factors that appear to contribute: The man threatens to kill her; the perception that he is capable of killing; extreme jealousy; forced sex; abuse during pregnancy; and increasing frequency or severity of abuse. For a woman who is deeply invested in a relationship, this litany of seemingly obvious precursors to murder can be hard to distinguish from plain abuse.

It would be hard to believe that a woman could endure a single instance of any of the factors that Campbell lists if it wasn't so easy to understand the reason that many women do not flee. It is because they believe, as one might, that the men who love them could never kill.

That, perhaps, is the greatest sadness in the statistics. Even as they have battled for the means to get out of abusive relationships, women have not found a way to survive them. When she leaves a disintegrating relationship, a woman may save her partner's life, but she endangers her own. As powerful as sisterhood can be, it cannot always save lives — at least not the lives of women.

Fathers Rights Groups Are Destructive

                                                   fcwordandpicture.JPG
"Inflamed by greed, incensed by hate, confused by delusion, overcome by them, obsessed by mind, a man chooses for his own affliction, for others' affliction, for the affliction of both and experiences pain and grief"

Buddha quotes (Hindu Prince Gautama Siddharta, the founder of Buddhism, 563-483 B.C.)

"It is said that power corrupts, but actually it's more true that power attracts the corruptible. The sane are usually attracted by other things than power".

David Brin (1950)

"Greed is a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction."

Erich Fromm quotes (German born American social Philosopher and Psychoanalyst1900-1980)

First of all I would like to dedicate the first paragraph to many fathers who do not beat their wives or hurt their children in any shape or form.  I can proudly say that I have met many great fathers that are loving to their children and wives.  I have also met fathers that have done a wonderful job in maintaining an amicable separation with the focus of children.  None of these fathers would lower themselves to supporting the fathers rights groups as their aim is not to harm women and they are the reason why "father" has not become a bad word.  Unfortunately, there are some men who are so driven by hate, that they will stop at nothing to destroy every independent women on this earth - related or not.  These are the ones who are destroying fatherhood.  Every man who respects the mother of his children and their lives are disgusted to sight their efforts being used as leverage to gain total rights over victims of Family Violence.  Real fathers don't want their daughters, sisters mothers and grand children to become a puppet of torture.  No humane person would.  Nice slogans, pretty pictures and the use of "god" is not going to conceal the intolerable position that women and children now find themselves in as a result of these laws.  The United Nations are well aware of the big difference between fathers and perpetrators.  Whilst there is much respect for the efforts made to ensure that the treatment of every human being is with dignity and as many rights as possible regardless of the crimes that they have committed, it was never intended to enable more rights to those who violate than those violated.

Lets begin with the infamous shared parenting bill brought about by fathers rights groups.
Campaign messages were:
  • Fathers are committing suicide because they are not seeing their children.
  • Single mothers are bad aka "fatherlessness"
  • Mothers make false allegations for financial reasons or revenge
  • Most Domestic Violence allegations are made to gain custody of the child
The submissions that were made in the Australian family law reform were mostly from men and women supporting men.  There was no credible research to prove any of these statements, but the amplified voice of propaganda won above common sense and ethics.  The loudest voice won in this occasion, but not those who were the mostly rightful in deserving favor as this bill was never intended for children.  The words orchestrated to sell shared parenting are nothing more than the words used to sell the infamous pyramid scheme.  The sellers in this case are a different breed of con artists.  The goal is not focused purely upon money, its about total control and a community that will not hear victims of violence.

The advantage these groups had in their campaign was the secrecy laws and that at that time there were no domestic violence homicide reviews.  If there were any, this bill would never have been introduced and perhaps Darcey Freeman would have had her first day of school, among the other children killed because the law could not protect them.  If it were not for these batterers rights groups, perhaps some of these men could find more responsible ways to deal with the destruction path they led and make a genuine effort to control themselves, rather than putting such misdirected energy into controlling others.

Fathers and Suicide
Dads In Distress is one of the milder operational cells of the Australian FR Network.  They are milder simply because they are restricted by funding guidelines set out by FACSIA .  DIDS has been funded for over a million dollars under the guidelines of, "Suicide Prevention".  Dads In Distress claimed in his appeal for more funding that fathers will be committing suicide without his service.  The Mens Referral Service has been far more responsible in providing these services for men without lobbying for children to have contact with mentally unstable men.  In many studies conducted on murder suicides, research revealed that when men do it, they usually take children and women with them.  Such advocacy is irresponsible and selfish in respect to the interests of the children.

Fatherlessness Is Hate Speech
Its a new way of discriminating against single mothers by stating that "fatherlessness is a problem".  Until more laws were introduced to combat discrimination against single mothers, the term has often become the scapegoat of societies ills.  Fathers of these children remain devoid of all responsibility profiting upon the laws that continue to give them a choice upon the level of involvement with the children without any requirement to hold any respect for the mother.  Measuring the choices available for the mothers and fathers, fathers are still privileged above both the children and the mother in levels of finances and autonomy.  Fathers Rights groups heavily blame the mother for fathers absence, yet ignore many who choose not to be involved. Others were restrained by court order because a high level of evidence was provided that concluded that the father was dangerous to the mother or the child.  Fathers rights claim these outcomes are due to mostly false allegations.

False Allegations Are A Rarity In The Family Court
In Family Court Proceedings, False Allegations are rare.  Dr Kim Oates was quoted on ABCs Parent Alienation Background briefing to have findings of false allegations as low as 2.5%.  Statistics that point to large numbers of false allegations are often mistaken as there are far more cases of abuse that are unsubstantiated due to the high level of evidence required and the court processes that re traumatize victims.  As Merrilyn Mc Donald points out in her article The Myth of False Sexual Abuse, "Unsubstantiated is not the same as false." Clearly, there are many children that are unnecessarily re victimized by the law and community simply because of the unwillingness to investigate these horrors that serve the abusers well.  Pro - contact culture has done well to place abusers upon undeserving pedestals whilst the rights of the victim to be protected is well beyond reach.

Fathers Rights Plan (Interpretation in red)

Hello Peter and Everyone

We are tackling a huge monster and a campaign should be placed in such a way that we take this monster down tier by tier as we do not have enough dynamite to implode the entire creature.

I agree, that Simon's approach to this, to advocate for children as a first step to get media attention is an excellent one. There are enough statistics, families and community knowledge and support, who accept that severe damage is being done to our children and then society as a whole by denying children access to their Fathers(Code word for less child support).

I also agree that a non gender specific campaign(men only) is the way to go though it should be mentioned that most of parents(fathers and step mothers) that children are denied from seeing are Fathers(fathers are paying too much $10.00 could equal three australian beers). It is a fact that cannot and should not be hidden.

5.. We must get on board with the push for tougher penalties for assault of any kind(against men fabricated and real), but take it further so that DV and child abuse are treated as serious assault and are fully investigated by police(mostly dominated by men) and charges laid where appropriate(men only) and the alleged perpetrator(female only) faces court with a jury and if found guilty suffers a punishment commensurate to the crime. All done outside of the family court!

This is the last and most dangerous Dragon(measures taken on violence against women) to be slayed for the reasons I am about to state
1. If we push for tougher penalties to soon many Men who are already victims of DV(code word for perpetrators who blame their victims) (amd getting blamed as the assailent) and false allegations will be victimised mercilessly.
2. It is a huge dragon to slay(violence against women is also recognized as a human rights violation) and I believe that once Fathers have more time with their children(pay less for child support and do what ever they want to their exes) and it is understood that equal time is given immediately false allegations will drop off considerably as this behaviour will no longer be reinforced by the reward of sole residency for Mothers as there will be no such thing.
3. Threatening the corrupt and unethical(against violence) 'Sisters movement' will bring down more shit on our heads than we can handle at this time. We have to play it smart. Let them think we are not coming after them then tear out their throats at a later date. (that is a terrible thng to say) :O

I well implemented campaign can cover more than one direct yet related issue at once and I still think the perfect time to do somthing of that nature, especially to get media attention, is the day after Fathers Day.

I would still be calling for national strike action by all Fathers, Uncles, Brothers, Concerned Family Members and of course Women and interested Family Rights Groups. I think the message of the strike action should be that men have had enough of being discluded from the lives of their children(supervised access is blocking contact).

I have many ideas on campaigns building up to this strike action.

A package should be available for down load with instructions on how to use the campaign kit.("Campaign" kit is code word for "destruction") ( I am good at this stuff. I am a woman and I know how to get attention)

The campaign kit should contain

An email campaign- Sample letters that can be copied with the persons details , if they so wish, and email addresses to send these letters to. We should target the media. (keep it out of the hands fo the feminist pollies who could quickly arrange a DV campaign for the same day or some such thing) Regional Papers, keeping the information flowing directly to the community with out censorship. The larger Papers will pick it up as there will be a great deal of community interest in the subject. Targeting friends and associates on your email list with sample emails to bring to thier attention the circumstances and also a copy of the Campaign kit as an attatchment.

A texting campaign- An example of Texts to send to Regional newspapers and friends in your phone list informing them of the situation. This could include information on where to find the Campaign kit so they too can join in supporting this cause.

A postal campaign- Again targeting the media and friends. Here we present ourselves with a visual oppourtunity. I propose a post card campaign. In the Campaign kit there will be post cards that a person can print off. These post cards will contain a printed message that we wish to convey to the media and it will be topped off with a visual image, some very provoking. People can choose which images they wish to send that they feel best describes the situation. I have found several images that fit the bill, from the shadows of a family on the pavement, a father walking hand and hand with his child, a picture of a tagged adult male foot clearly taken in a morgue (or made to look that way) with the word Dad on the tag. And a couple of others. I purchased these images with permission to print 500 000 0f each.

The Radio Campaign- A well thought out and provoking debate to bring to the community of radio in all local areas. Perhaps this is best handled by hand picked spokes people so as not to drown out the central message with everyones differing thoughts on the matter. Information for the media to get in contact with these spokes people to continue the debate. This is a radio stations dream as they like to encourage listeners to tune in.

The Strike Campaign- A detailed run through of times and places for strike action, information on speakers for the day, Information on signs that can be made, slogans and chants. A call for parents affected by disenfranchisement to speak out (3 mins to say a little about their heart breaking experiences) A call for older children to speak out about the affects of disenfranchisement on their lives, Reading of statistics in between that back up our campaign. And for families who wish it, in the evening a solemn a reading of the names of Fathers who have lost their lives becasue they could not be with their children(fathers who committed suicide when they could no longer abuse and control their exes) and it was too much for them to bear any longer. (maybe a little candle light vigil for them too) Every location where this action is taking place shoudl stick as beast it can, to the schedule. Not too many places of course. We will need to try and gather as many people to a singular area as we can.

We can also mail out the campaign to other groups who will be supportive and sympathetic to our cause.

Timing is exceptionally important as we need the element of surprise on our side. Too soon and the feminists will discredit us with their own campaign. To late and we do nto rally enough troops. (I should have been in the militiary)

Kind Regards
Tant!

PS. I knwo this may sound complicated but I assure you it is really quite a simple print and post set up in such a way that is probably takes ten minutes out of a persons day in the build up and then one day of strike action.
PSS I am very excited now!

Arthur Freeman Behind Bars Until Octobers Hearing

COURT REPORT: Whittington man Arthur Freeman accused of throwing daughter off West Gate Bridge

Aleks Devic

FORMER Whittington man Arthur Freeman who is accused of murdering his daughter by throwing her off the West Gate Bridge appeared briefly in court today via video link.

The 36-year-old sat unmoved with his hands clasped while details for his committal hearing were discussed in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court.

Darcey Freeman died in January this year after her father allegedly stopped his car on the West Gate Bridge and threw her off the edge while her two brothers sat in the car. The young girl was killed in the incident.

Magistrate Peter Reardon asked chief Crown prosecutor Gavin Silbert, SC, how the boys were coping.

"They are with their mother. The rest of the family is in court and that's all they are wishing to say," Mr Silbert said.

Darcey's uncle, Joe Barnes, and grandfather Wayne Barnes, alongside Melbourne victim support group campaigner Noel McNamara sat in court during the proceedings.

The court was told there would be 13 witnesses during the three day committal which begins on October 7.

Mr Reardon said it would be desirable for Mr Freeman to attend court.

Mr Silbert told the court Darcey's mother had not decided if she would attend the committal.

Mr Freeman did not apply for bail.

Making him one of Australia's most exciting and original new musicians. With several songs becoming classics in the underground Australian music scene, despite never being officially released, much anticipation stands from industry, peers and fans for the early '09 release of "the soul of the streets". Since first comin to Melbourne the Eclective has been making quite an impression on the industry and punters alike landing their first recidency at the Blue Tile Lounge in September 2007. This was quickly followed by a residency at Melbournes iconic ESPY hotel in st Kilda. This momentum didnt stop there, the Eclective grew in popularity and in band members. ♥ DARCEY TRAGEDY ♥ Westgate Bridge Tragedy 29.1.09 ♥

Sweet & Innocent little Darcey Iris Freeman, 4, died in a tragedy that left a young family destroyed and the nation in shock.

Darcey Freeman, was shockingly thrown off Melbourne's Westgate Bridge on Thursday 29th January 2009 at around 9.15am 'allegedly' by her own father.

Her two brothers Benjamin 6, and Jack 2 were in the car at the time, when the father allegedly pulled over on the West Gate Bridge in morning peak-hour traffic and dropped little Darcey 190 feet (58 meters) .

It has been decided rather than focus on the negative of the event, a more fitting way to celebrate the life of Darcey would be to have a Family Dayl in her honour!

Organised by the Admin of ♥ RIP 4yo Darcey Iris Freeman ♥ Westgate Bridge Tragedy 29.1.09 GROUP
